The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beard blocks a head kick by Young.
It seemed like Beard was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Beard moves forwards but Young connects with a nice, crisp jab.
It looks like Jarrod Beard has been cut.
Young connects with a body shot that sends Beard's belly button to the back.
Beard pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
A jab lands there for Beard.

Young feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Beard sprawling to the canvas! Beard rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Young finish him?!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Young moves out of range as Beard strikes.
Beard has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Beard throws a lazy right hand but Young sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Young throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Beard feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Young is looking to stand up but Beard isn't so interested in that idea.
