Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rade Franjic (ranked 620 p4p, 743 weight class) and Mikail Spartakov (ranked 88 p4p, 99 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Mikail Spartakov was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Spartakov looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Franjic quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Franjic moves out of range of the strikes.
Spartakov moves in looking to clinch but Franjic pushes him off.
Spartakov walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

It looks like Mikail Spartakov has been cut.
Spartakov walks forward, straight into a front kick from Franjic.

Rade Franjic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Franjic misses with a straight left.
Franjic cracks Spartakov with a right hand to the side of the head.
Spartakov attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Spartakov wants to counter the offense by Franjic and move into the clinch position.
Spartakov on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
We've been told by Franjic's head coaches at DC Dragon Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Spartakov lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Spartakov steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Franjic.
Spartakov sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Franjic bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Franjic drops Spartakov with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Spartakov looks back up at him and smiles so Franjic waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Spartakov is rocked!

Spartakov takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Spartakov seems to have recovered his senses.
Spartakov is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Franjic doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Spartakov crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Spartakov's bad books for that mishap!
