 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Powell lands a high kick!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 27 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bo Duran! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 37 - 24 - 1, fighting out of New York, Gunnar Gunnarsson! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yuuki Gou and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gunnarsson misses the shot to the body. Duran was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Gunnarsson looks to throw the jab but Duran is out of range. Gunnarsson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Duran chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Gunnarsson can pounce on him.
A nice inside leg kick there by Gunnarsson. That's going to slow Duran down. A shot to the liver by Gunnarsson. Beautiful body shot. Gunnarsson misses with a hook. A solid leg kick lands there for Gunnarsson.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gunnarsson is looking to slow Duran down with leg kicks. Gunnarsson is looking to land body kicks. Duran looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Duran tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Duran steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Gunnarsson. Gunnarsson looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Gunnarsson connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Duran's hands. Gunnarsson fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Duran has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Duran avoids the body shot from Gunnarsson.
Duran takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Gunnarsson throws a hook but Duran avoids it easily. Gunnarsson missing with a left hand there. Duran was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Duran throws a quick counter kick to the body but Gunnarsson avoids it. Gunnarsson misses with a head kick.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. Duran misses with a head kick.
Duran has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Duran there as he acknowledges the shot. Gunnarsson has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Duran is landing a low percentage of strikes. Gunnarsson throws a lazy right hand but Duran sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Duran throwing a counter right hand but Gunnarsson manages to avoid it. Duran steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Gunnarsson. Duran staying out of range there. Duran appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. The fighters circle momentarily. Gunnarsson darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. This has been an exciting period of action! Duran tries to move into range but Gunnarsson moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. An inside leg kick from Gunnarsson misses. Duran looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger. An inside leg kick lands from Gunnarsson. Gunnarsson misses with an uppercut
and Duran counters with a stiff right hand. Gunnarsson is looking to chop away at Duran's legs. And Duran counters with a quick kick to the body but Gunnarsson blocks it.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Gunnarsson scores with a nice body kick.
Gunnarsson pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Gunnarsson misses with a looping right. Duran was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Gunnarsson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. A low kick from Gunnarsson misses and Duran counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Gunnarsson throws a hook but Duran avoids it easily. Duran throwing a counter right hand but Gunnarsson manages to avoid it. Gunnarsson misses with a hook
and Duran cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Gunnarsson throws a poor cross that misses
and Duran counters with a series of strikes that really hurt Gunnarsson! The ref looks into his eyes and sees nobody home - he's called the fight! This one is all over!
