 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A big left from Akhtankhanov misses. Rizzo's coach down at St Petersburg MMA Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Rizzo's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Akhtankhanov throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab lands there for Morrison. Morrison throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Fadda Jr looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. A shot to the body from Fadda Jr misses and Morrison counters with a straight right hand. A jab lands there for Fadda Jr. Fadda Jr loads up on a big right hand but Morrison slips the punch. Morrison jabs Fadda Jr to the body, keeping him at a distance. Morrison throws a lazy uppercut
and Fadda Jr counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Fadda Jr looks to throw the jab but Morrison is out of range. Frank Morrison seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fadda Jr moves out of range as Morrison strikes. Fadda Jr misses with an uppercut. Fadda Jr takes a shot to the body in his stride.
We've been hearing reports that Morrison has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Fadda Jr misses with a left hand and Morrison cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. This has been an exciting period of action! A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Morrison holds on and takes a little breather. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Fadda Jr's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Morrison looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Fadda Jr puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Morrison is looking to control Fadda Jr's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Morrison avoid being mounted? Morrison wants to improve his position but Fadda Jr is controlling well.

Morrison is squirming around, avoiding Fadda Jr's attempts to control the action. Morrison tries to lock up and control but Fadda Jr gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Fadda Jr thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

That was a close round but I would say that Frank Morrison will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Morrison misses with a left hand and Fadda Jr counters with a stiff right hand. Morrison closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Morrison throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
