The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chontamenti feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Chontamenti has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Krol has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mister Mediocre!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Sam Margolis and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karter missing with a left hand there. Mediocre was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Karter checks the leg kick.
Karter takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Karter checks a leg kick.
Mediocre with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Mediocre takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Karter throws a sloppy body shot
enabling Mediocre to counter with a crisp jab.
Karter checks a leg kick.
Mediocre tests Karter's chin there with a solid looking shot.
An inside leg kick from Mediocre misses.
Mediocre tries to land a front kick but Karter steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Karter moves away from the strike by Mediocre.

Karter is looking to slow Mediocre down with leg kicks.

Karter fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mediocre, pushing him back against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Karter misses with a hook to the ribs.
Mediocre gets through Karter's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Mediocre lands a left hand that snaps the head of Karter backwards.
Karter is looking to control Mediocre's arms but Mediocre gets an underhook and turns him. Now Karter has his back to the cage.
Karter tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Mediocre lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Mediocre misses with a punch to the body.
Mediocre lands a nice uppercut.
Karter blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Mediocre misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Mediocre has a couple of punches blocked by Karter.
Karter drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Mediocre gets the underhooks and prevents it.
A right handed body shot lands from Mediocre.
Karter struggles to land a body shot inside as Mediocre controls his hands.
Mediocre tries to throw a body punch but Karter avoids it by throwing Mediocre back against the cage.
Karter fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Mediocre misses with a hook to the ribs.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Mediocre.
Mediocre has a couple of punches blocked by Karter.
Karter softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
A short body shot lands from Mediocre as the two fighters clinch.
Mediocre lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Karter backwards.
Karter misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Karter tries to stall but Mediocre uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Mediocre swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Mediocre lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Karter backwards.

Mediocre throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Karters head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mediocre blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Mediocre tries to work over Karter's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Mediocre lands a body shot.
A right handed body shot lands from Karter.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Mediocre.
Mediocre has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Karter seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Mediocre can turn it around.
Karter lands an uppercut.
Mediocre swings wildly with an uppercut but Karter uses good head movement to avoid it.
Karter's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Mediocre tries to throw a body punch but Karter avoids it by throwing Mediocre back against the cage.
Mediocre lands a shoulder strike.
Karter wants to stall.
Karter is working Mediocre over against the cage.
Karter misses with a hook to the ribs.

Karter turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
You can see the frustration on Mediocre's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Mediocre tries to bench press Karter off him but Karter keeps the position.
Karter is looking to take a break and control but Mediocre is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Karter scores with punches from side control.
Mediocre looking for a sweep but Karter has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Mediocre tries to lock up and control but Karter gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Mediocre bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Mediocre wants to pass the guard but Karter is keeping the position.
Mediocre trying to control the position from guard on top but Karter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mediocre trying to move into half guard but instead Karter has managed to sweep!

Karter is working Mediocre over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Karter pushes down on Mediocre's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Mediocre manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mediocre has momentary wrist control but Karter slips an elbow through the middle.

Mediocre is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Karter frees his head nicely. Oh but Mediocre has switched to an armbar! Karter is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Armbar). Mister Mediocre!
