Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Giro Inhanamoto (ranked 22 p4p, 171 weight class) and Guilherme Gamboa (ranked 1 p4p, 11 weight class). Guilherme Gamboa has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Giro Inhanamoto!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Guilherme Gamboa!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Saam Ante and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice shot by Gamboa.
Inhanamoto is looking to slow Gamboa down with leg kicks.
Gamboa dives in and grabs Inhanamoto's left leg, looking for a takedown. Inhanamoto pushes down on Gamboa's head and hops out.
Gamboa checks a low kick from Inhanamoto.
Inhanamoto thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Gamboa if he has to take too many more of those.
Inhanamoto misses with a looping left.
Gamboa feints the counter takedown.
Gamboa moves out of range of the body kick.
We've been told by Inhanamoto's head coaches at League of Shadows MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Inhanamoto misses with a kick to the body.
Gamboa changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Inhanamoto swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Gamboa shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Inhanamoto as he jumps to the side.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Inhanamoto throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Inhanamoto throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Gamboa looks winded!
A nice leg kick from Inhanamoto, right into the meat of the thigh.
Gamboa on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Gamboa closes this distance looking for a takedown but Inhanamoto circles away.
Inhanamoto swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Giro Inhanamoto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Guilherme Gamboa.
A big right from Inhanamoto misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gamboa will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Inhanamoto lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Gamboa shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Inhanamoto defends it nicely.
Gamboa fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Inhanamoto was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Inhanamoto bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Gamboa's head backwards.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gamboa with a poor takedown
and Inhanamoto makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Gamboa tries to score a power double leg takedown but Inhanamoto sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gamboa somewhat.
A little feinted left hand from Inhanamoto on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Inhanamoto thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Gamboa if he has to take too many more of those.
Gamboa with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Inhanamoto to score with a decent uppercut.
Inhanamoto scores with a punch to the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Inhanamoto cracks Gamboa with a big right hand and Gamboa goes down!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gamboa wants to hit a sweep here but Inhanamoto passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Gamboa there!
Gamboa is trying to reverse the position but instead Inhanamoto has taken his back - oops!
Inhanamoto controls the position.
Inhanamoto has the hooks in. Gamboa is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Inhanamoto gets back to his feet - a bit of a stange decision given the position he was in.
Inhanamoto pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Gamboa tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Inhanamoto moves out of range as Gamboa strikes.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Giro Inhanamoto dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Inhanamoto bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Gamboa shoots for a double leg takedown but Inhanamoto sprawls well. He's pushed Gamboa's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Inhanamoto throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Gamboa stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Inhanamoto fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Gamboa is out of range.
Gamboa drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Inhanamoto defends it well.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Gamboa closes the distance and clinches up with Inhanamoto, looking for a takedown. Gamboa pushes Inhanamoto against the cage but Inhanamoto circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Inhanamoto drops Gamboa with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Gamboa! Inhanamoto dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Giro Inhanamoto!
Giro Inhanamoto retains his super heavyweight title!
A relieved looking Giro Inhanamoto thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
