Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Oliver Hardy (ranked 279 p4p, 183 weight class) and Javier Martinez (ranked 42 p4p, 33 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 16 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Oliver Hardy! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 60 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Javier Martinez! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Alec Ball and Trevor Gratis.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardy gets a clinch. Martinez is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Hardy is pushing Martinez up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Martinez jumps guard and drags Hardy to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Hardy works a leg free and moves into half guard. Hardy is thwarting Martinez's attempts to control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hardy perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Martinez is pressing down on Hardy's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Martinez throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Hardy escapes and throws Martinez's legs to the side, diving into side control! Martinez is trying to improve his position. Hardy is staying tight to Martinez's torso, preventing him from escaping. Martinez struggling a bit here.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Hardy is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Martinez will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Hardy seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Martinez for as long as he can get away with. Hardy has control of an arm but Martinez manages to advance to Hardy's back! Martinez misses with a punch to the head. Martinez controlling from the back.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Hardy breaks Martinez's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Martinez has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Hardy is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Martinez. Martinez trying his best to control but Hardy has mounted him. Hardy tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Martinez is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Martinez is in all sorts of trouble here.
Martinez wants to hold on but Hardy pushes him away. Hardy controlling the position easily from mount. Hardy avoids the attempt from Martinez to control. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Martinez is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Hardy is staying active. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Hardy blocks a jab. No luck for Hardy with that takedown attempt. Martinez feints the counter takedown.
Hardy shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Martinez's guard.
Martinez is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hardy defends well. Hardy is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hardy stopping the sweep attempt from Martinez. Martinez wants to control the position but Hardy says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Oliver Hardy overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Martinez tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Hardy has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Martinez wants to control but Hardy is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Martinez tries to reverse the position but Hardy maintains control. Hardy tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Martinez is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Hardy takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Martinez is wriggling around trying to escape.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Martinez tries to hold on but Hardy postures up. Hardy content just to control the position here. Martinez wants to hold on but Hardy pushes him away. Hardy controlling his opponent.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Martinez wants to control but Hardy is having none of it. Martinez is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Oliver Hardy dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action!
Hardy misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Hardy tries to score a power double leg takedown but Martinez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hardy somewhat. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hardy. Martinez swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Oliver Hardy. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hardy swats away the attempt to clinch by Martinez. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hardy stuffs the takedown. Hardy attempts a counter takedown but Martinez avoids it well and moves away. Martinez misses with a lunging right hand
and Hardy counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Martinez thinking.
Martinez gets caught flat footed, as Hardy shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Hardy controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Hardy is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Martinez can do to turn this around?

Hardy is trying to break the clinch but Martinez has him pressed against the cage. Hardy's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Martinez has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Hardy after a bit of a struggle. Oliver Hardy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Javier Martinez.

And that's the end of the fight! Oliver Hardy showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hardy, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Oliver Hardy decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
