Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lemuel Denver!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 16 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Eugeniy Tryastsyn!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Radbod Blank and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tryastsyn scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Denver doesn't seem bothered though.
Tryastsyn fails to land with a series of punches.
Denver was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Tryastsyn takes a swing at Denver's ribcage but misses.
Eugeniy Tryastsyn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tryastsyn cracks a nice hook into Denver's ribs.
Tryastsyn falls off balance throwing a combination
and Denver counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Tryastsyn throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
A little feinted left hand from Denver on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Tryastsyn misses with an uppercut
and Denver counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Denver throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Tryastsyn cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Tryastsyn pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Denver is looking to counter with a shot to the body.

Denver feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Tryastsyn sprawling to the canvas! Tryastsyn rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Denver finish him?!

It looks like Eugeniy Tryastsyn has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Tryastsyn fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Denver avoids it really well and circles away.

Denver stuffs the takedown.
Tryastsyn looks to land a left hand but Denver moved out of range nicely.
Denver misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Tryastsyn.
Tryastsyn cracks Denver with a good jab.
Horrible takedown attempt by Tryastsyn or perhaps it was just good defense by Denver, which made it look bad.
Denver is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Lemuel Denver has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eugeniy Tryastsyn.
Denver slips under a jab.
Tryastsyn changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Denver tries to avoid it but Tryastsyn manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Denver to the ground. Denver escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A quick step to the side and Denver tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Denver just misses with a punch to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Denver enables Tryastsyn to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Denver manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Denver is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Tryastsyn defends well.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tryastsyn accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Tryastsyn postures up in Denver's guard and throws a big left but Denver blocks it.
Denver lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Our spies down at at St Petersburg MMA Gym inform us that Tryastsyn has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Denver sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Tryastsyn looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tryastsyn is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Denver postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Denver scoring with punches to the head and body.
Tryastsyn is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Denver makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Denver.
Denver looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tryastsyn is one step ahead there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Denver has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tryastsyn can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Denver utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Tryastsyn drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Denver dives on top into guard.

Denver with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Denver wants to control from the top but Tryastsyn keeps moving.

Denver got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tryastsyn has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Denver has managed to get both his arms back between Tryastsyn's legs - danger averted.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Denver takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Tryastsyn looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Denver is fending him off so far but Tryastsyn persists. Nope, Denver circles away and we're back to standing.
Denver is looking to counter with a shot to the body.

Denver jabs Tryastsyn to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Denver lands a jab to Tryastsyn's midsection.
Tryastsyn glances at the clock... BAM! Denver nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Tryastsyn crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Tryastsyn is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Lemuel Denver!
