PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Orestes Prometheus (ranked 151 p4p, 206 weight class) and Thomas Rose (ranked 23 p4p, 34 weight class). Prometheus's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Before I Forget - Slipknot. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Prometheus throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Rose steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Prometheus.
Orestes Prometheus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Prometheus looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Prometheus tries to bum rush Rose with a series of wild strikes but Rose uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Prometheus sets himself, and Rose steps forward looking for the clinch! Prometheus avoids it this time.
Prometheus looks for the body kick but Rose saw that one coming.
Rose is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Prometheus blocks a body shot from Rose.

Prometheus breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Rose turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

It looks like Orestes Prometheus has been cut.
Prometheus connects with a nice looking jab.

It looks like Thomas Rose has been cut.
Prometheus thows a left - swing and a miss!
Rose wants to counter with a clinch but Prometheus pushes him away.
A solid leg kick lands there for Prometheus.

Rose lands a big right hand that sends Prometheus crashing to the mat! Rose stays standing though and waves Prometheus back to his feet!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Prometheus lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Nice defenses there by Rose.

Rose clinches with his opponent.
Rose misses with a knee to the head.
Rose lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Rose fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Rose swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Rose keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Prometheus's efforts to push away.

Prometheus pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Prometheus misses with a body kick.

Prometheus dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Prometheus avoids the body shot from Rose.
Rose throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Prometheus throws a body kick that misses.
Rose throws a head kick that misses
and Prometheus counters with a low kick, right behind Rose 's knee.
Rose cracks Prometheus with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Crunch! Prometheus slams his shin into Rose's torso.
Rose looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Rose with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Prometheus misses the jab.
Rose drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Prometheus throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Thomas Rose will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Prometheus bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Rose's head.
Rose rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Prometheus counters with a low kick, right behind Rose 's knee.
Prometheus scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Rose doesn't seem bothered though.

That has opened up Thomas Rose's cut even more.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Rose in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Rose fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Prometheus.

Rose is breathing heavily.

Rose moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

The cut above Thomas Rose's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Prometheus lands a right hook to the body.
Prometheus dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Prometheus keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Thomas Rose's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Prometheus goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Thomas Rose's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
