Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Albatross (ranked 11 p4p, 95 weight class) and Violent Femme (ranked 1 p4p, 5 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Femme ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Albatross moves away.

Femme swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
It looked like Albatross was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Femme.

and Albatross makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Femme really felt that one!
Violent Femme seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Albatross uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Femme.

and Albatross counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Albatross was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Femme gets a double leg takedown into Albatross's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

My spies in Black Eagle MMA inform me that Femme has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Albatross takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Albatross bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

Albatross takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Albatross ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Albatross seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Albatross throws a leg kick but Femme sees it coming and moves out of range.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Violent Femme dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Oooooh!!! Albatross has knocked Femme down with a huge combo! Albatross steps away and waves a wobbly Femme back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Femme is rocked!
Albatross throws a pinpoint strike between Femme's hands that connects right on the jaw and sends Femme crashing to the floor! He's out before he even hits the mat and Albatross scores a great knockout victory!
