Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jerry Short (ranked 155 p4p, 201 weight class) and Ed Green (ranked 8 p4p, 12 weight class). Short comes into the arena with Survivor - Eye Of The Tiger blaring out of the sound system. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jerry Short!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ed Green!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Hirohito Nitta and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Green misses with a left hand

and Short counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Green is trying to control but can't.
Green tries to roll over but Short keeps him under control.
Short looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Green with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Short seems to be working for a kimura but Green defends the submission attempt.
Short has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Short wants to work for an arm triangle but Green is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Short drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Short jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Green working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Short doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Short manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Short drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Green dives on top into guard.

Short might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Green seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Green tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jerry Short will probably get the nod.

Well Green has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
