Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Macka Briggs (ranked 252 p4p, 248 weight class) and Arto Jarvinen (ranked 36 p4p, 35 weight class). Briggs comes into the arena with Stepping Razor by Peter Tosh blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Macka Briggs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Arto Jarvinen!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Shimada and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The crowd cheers as Jarvinen lands an impressive looking overhand right. Briggs doesn't seem phased though.
It looks like Macka Briggs has been cut.
Jarvinen checks a leg kick.
Briggs moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
It looks like Arto Jarvinen has been cut.
Briggs misses the shot to the body.
Briggs has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Briggs bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Jarvinen is not content to let Briggs control the position.
Briggs has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Jarvinen swats away the attempt to clinch by Briggs.
Jarvinen fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Briggs tries to clinch up.

Jarvinen walks into a left hand.
Briggs throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Jarvinen stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
We've been informed that Jarvinen has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Briggs throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Briggs shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jarvinen as he avoids it easily.
Arto Jarvinen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Briggs tried to score with a low kick but Jarvinen checks it.
Some wild striking there from Briggs.
Briggs sets himself, and Jarvinen steps forward looking for the clinch! Briggs avoids it this time.
Briggs takes one to the side of the head.
Briggs misses the shot to the body.
Briggs slips under a jab from Jarvinen.
Briggs throws a right and a left that Jarvinen avoids nicely.
Jarvinen wants to counter the offense by Briggs and move into the clinch position.
Briggs loads up on a big right hand but Jarvinen slips the punch.
Briggs sets himself, and Jarvinen steps forward looking for the clinch! Briggs avoids it this time.

Briggs connects with a jab.
Briggs dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jarvinen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Briggs.
Macka Briggs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Briggs swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Briggs swings for the body but Jarvinen moves out of range.
Briggs fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Briggs lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Jarvinen has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Jarvinen and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

A nice left hand lands by Briggs.
Jarvinen lands a body punch.
Briggs throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Briggs misses with a short punch on the inside.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Jarvinen.
Briggs is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
A short uppercut from Jarvinen.
Jarvinen lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Briggs wants to get back to striking at distance but Jarvinen won't allow it.
Jarvinen misses with some punches.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Briggs just misses with a elbow thrown towards Jarvinen's brow.
Briggs blocks a body shot from Jarvinen.
Briggs has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Jarvinen is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Macka Briggs. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Briggs takes a shot to the head.
Jarvinen throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Briggss head.
Jarvinen lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Briggs or not.
Jarvinen blocks an uppercut.
Jarvinen scores with a shoulder strike.
Jarvinen works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Briggs is breathing heavily.
Jarvinen digs a right hand underneath Briggs's ribcage. Briggs let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Jarvinen is pressed up against the cage. Briggs has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Jarvinen down to the mat. Jarvinen avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Jarvinen cracks Briggs with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Jarvinen has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Briggs to stand back up!

Jarvinen cracks Briggs on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Briggs falls backwards against the cage. Jarvinen follows up with more strikes that drop Briggs to his knees. Jarvinen keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Briggs! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Arto Jarvinen!
After winning the bout, Arto Jarvinen thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
