Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Siale Veainu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 21 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Azriel Pandens!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Joseph Jones and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Veainu lands with an overhand left.
Veainu scores with a crisp jab that stopped Pandens in his tracks.
Veainu throws a lazy uppercut
and Pandens counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Veainu tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pandens paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Veainu misses with a two punch combination.
Nice body kick there by Pandens.
Veainu instigates a clinch.
Veainu doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Pandens fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Veainu's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Veainu misses with a hook to the body
and Pandens makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Veainu is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Veainu tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Pandens manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Pandens throws a head kick that misses
and Pandens takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Pandens fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Veainu manages to avoid it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Veainu throws a shot to the body.
Veainu ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Pandens takes one to the side of the head.
A jab from Pandens misses.
Veainu connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
A decent looking cross lands there for Veainu.
Pandens thows a leg kick but Veainu checks it
and Veainu counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
A head kick by Pandens misses
and Veainu counters with a crisp right that sends Pandens to the canvas! Veainu follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Siale Veainu!
