PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chaikka Chai (ranked 555 p4p, 1008 weight class) and Rudi Kardi (ranked 84 p4p, 145 weight class). Chai's entrance music is Dead Man Walking. A fine choice. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 2, fighting out of London, Rudi Kardi!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Roosa Järviläinen and Arvi Lind.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kardi tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Chai defends well and Kardi ends up having to push Chai into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Kardi has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Chai connects with a right hand. Kardi shakes it off.

It looks like Rudi Kardi has been cut.
Chai throws a big shot that misses.
Chai throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Kardi tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Chai swivels and escapes.
Kardi shoots in but Chai avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Chaikka Chai has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rudi Kardi.
Chai misses with a two punch combination.
Chaikka Chai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kardi takes one on the button.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Chai drops Kardi with a beautiful combination! Kardi stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Chai is looking for the KO!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Chai cracks Kardi with a hook to the temple - Kardi is on wobbly legs here! Chai swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Kardi falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Chai wins by TKO!
