Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Damian Wayne!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wayne tries to keep at a distance but Soares has taken the fight into the clinch.
Wayne fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Soares tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Wayne's elbow.
Wayne throws a head punch that misses.
We've been hearing reports that Soares has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Soares blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Wayne breaks the clinch.
Soares fails with the takedown.
Wayne now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Soares scores with a hook.
Soares takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Soares closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Soares creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Wayne sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Wayne is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Soares postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Wayne looks a forlorn figure.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Soares cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wayne told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Soares lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Wayne is still in real trouble! Can Soares finish him?
Soares drops a big elbow. That's hurt Wayne! More shots from Soares and the ref steps in! The fight is over!

Gilbervan Soares really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Voodoo Nutrition logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
