The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGuire missing with a left hand there. Lovanov was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
McGuire uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Lovanov.
Nice uppercut there from Lovanov.
It looks like Kevin McGuire has been cut.
Lovanov has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
McGuire scoring well with a low kick there.
McGuire pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Lovanov bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops McGuire! He dives into his guard looking to finish!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lovanov wants to control from the top but McGuire keeps moving.
McGuire is trying to keep Lovanov in close.
McGuire is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lovanov is aware though and is defending well.
McGuire working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Lovanov.

McGuire utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lovanov wants to control from the top but McGuire keeps moving.
Lovanov throws a sloppy strike and McGuire has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Lovanov is forced to tap! Great BJJ from McGuire!
