Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kevin McGuire (ranked 532 p4p, 182 weight class) and Ivan Samsonov (ranked 75 p4p, 29 weight class). McGuire's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Johnny Cash - God's Gonna Cut You Down. Ivan Samsonov is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Daniel Bishop and Phil Schofield.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Samsonov throws a looping overhand right but McGuire ducks down to avoid it.
McGuire throws a lazy body kick
enabling Samsonov to counter with a crisp jab.

It looks like Kevin McGuire has been cut.
McGuire misses with a lunging right hand
letting Samsonov counter with a right hand.
McGuire fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Samsonov has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Samsonov rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but McGuire moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
McGuire scores with a hook to the body. Samsonov takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

McGuire throws a lazy right hand but Samsonov sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

McGuire tried to counter with a leg kick but Samsonov avoided it.

McGuire has clasped his hands together around Samsonov's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

McGuire lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Samsonov down.

Samsonov is working to get back to half guard.

McGuire is working for a guillotine from mount but Samsonov frees his head quite easily.

Samsonov chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before McGuire can pounce on him.

McGuire drops back, looking for a kneebar! Samsonov looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Samsonov looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Samsonov!

McGuire wants to control but Samsonov is having none of it.

McGuire tries to control Samsonov's body but Samsonov pushes him off. McGuire squirms to his side and now Samsonov has his back!
Samsonov slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Samsonov holds on and takes a little breather.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, McGuire creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
