The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nouveau throws a sloppy head kick
enabling Joplin to counter with a crisp jab.
Nouveau takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Joplin misses with an uppercut.
Joplin misses with a hook. Nouveau ducked under it nicely.
Nouveau tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Joplin manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Joplin comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Nouveau shoots in but no luck this time.
Joplin swings for the body but Nouveau moves out of range.

We've been hearing reports that Joplin has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Nouveau goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Joplin has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Nouveau but great work by Joplin.

A punch lands to the side of Nouveau 's head but he takes it in his stride.
BOOM! Joplin lands a beautiful left hook that drops Nouveau. Nouveau tries to recover but Joplin is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Nouveau lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
