and Norberg counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Norberg throws a hook to the side of Randriamaholison's head but Randriamaholison sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Norberg, as that shot connected.
It looks like Boniface Randriamaholison has been cut.
Norberg steps in with a hook that catches Randriamaholison right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Norberg follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Randriamaholison looks absolutely devastated.

A relieved looking Buster Norberg thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mettovaara lands a big head kick that sends Saitoh tumbling to the mat! Mettovaara takes a step backwards and waves Saitoh back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Masa Saitoh has been cut.
Saitoh misses with a wild body shot.
Mettovaara connects with a right hand. Saitoh shakes it off.
That has opened up Masa Saitoh's cut even more.
Saitoh just misses with a punch to the body.
The fighters circling - Mettovaara throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Saitoh throws a body shot but no joy.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mettovaara ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Saitoh moves away.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Saitoh! But no joy.
Mettovaara displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Saitoh throws out the jab.
Saitoh catches Mettovaara with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Mettovaara dips to his left and cracks Saitoh with an uppercut!

Saitoh throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Mettovaara throws a counter high kick but Saitoh was just alert enough to avoid it.
Saitoh misses with a hook to the body

and Mettovaara counters with a crisp one two that drops Saitoh! Mettovaara thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Saitoh to his feet! Saitoh is in big trouble!
Saitoh is rocked!
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Mettovaara ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Saitoh is still on wobbly legs! Can Mettovaara finish him?
Saitoh avoids the body shot from Mettovaara.
Saitoh seems to have recovered his senses.
A swing and a miss from Mettovaara.
A nice side step and Saitoh releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Mordor Mettovaara is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mettovaara tries a head kick but it misses.

Mettovaara gets caught napping as Saitoh dives in and scores a takedown. Mettovaara manages to retain guard.

Mettovaara has his foot on Saitoh's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Saitoh works his way back into a safe position though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mettovaara looking to hit a scissor sweep but Saitoh is one step ahead there.
Mettovaara seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Saitoh wants to control from the top but Mettovaara keeps moving.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Saitoh throws a looping overhand right but Mettovaara ducks down to avoid it.
Mettovaara lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Saitoh avoids the body shot from Mettovaara.
Mettovaara lands with a cross.

Saitoh misses with a body shot.
Mettovaara takes one to the side of the head.
Mettovaara wants to land a leg kick but Saitoh is out of range.
Saitoh swings for the body but Mettovaara moves out of range.
Saitoh takes a swing at Mettovaara's ribcage but misses.
Mettovaara slaps away a takedown attempt from Saitoh, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Saitoh is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Mettovaara rather than just go for the knockout.
A looping hook to the body misses from Mettovaara. Saitoh does a little dance to reset his feet.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Saitoh loads up on a big left hand. Mettovaara felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Saitoh looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Mettovaara can't hide his disappointment, as Saitoh celebrates the victory.

Masa Saitoh is the new light heavyweight champion!
A very excited looking Masa Saitoh made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
