The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson dives in and grabs Powell's left leg, looking for a takedown. Powell pushes down on Anderson's head and hops out.
Powell ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Anderson moves away.
A shot to the body from Powell misses
and Anderson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Anderson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Powell avoids it really well and circles away.
A counter left hand to the body from Powell misses its target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Powell does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Anderson tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

and Anderson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Powell won't be happy with that.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Powell is working hard here to advance position.
