Power is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Monkey can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Monkey tries to lock up and control but Power gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Power has hold of Monkey's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Monkey manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Power is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Monkey is in real trouble.
Monkey looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

You can see the frustration on Monkey's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Power is persistently looking for the submission but Monkey is defending it well.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Monkey really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Power. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That was a close round but I would say that Max Power will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Power feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Barre fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Drago has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Oh Drago is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Barre circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Drago drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Barre follows Drago to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dakota Maynard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Steve Louis!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Glass and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maynard instigates a clinch.

Louis works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Louis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Maynard swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Louis trying to control the position from guard on top but Maynard is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Maynard is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Maynard working for a triangle but Louis defends it easily.
Maynard controls Louis momentarily but Louis frees himself.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Louis is sitting in close to Maynard's body. Maynard has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Louis is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Louis is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Maynard.
