Marlin Scars told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scars fails with the takedown.

Menard fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Scars, pushing him back against the cage.
Scars jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Menard walks away with a smile on his face. Scars gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Scars slips a jab and a cross from Menard.
Menard leaves Scars with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Jacob Menard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marlin Scars.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Menard stalks Scars and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Scars's face. Scars staggers backwards, shaken.

A very excited looking Jake Woods rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.

Gustafson shoots in looking for a takedown but McDonald manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gustafson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
McDonald lands a nice shot to the body.

Gustafson needs to keep his hands up - McDonald had a free shot at his head there.
McDonald displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gustafson.
Gustafson is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
McDonald swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Gustafson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McDonald tries to avoid it but Gustafson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McDonald to the ground. McDonald escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Duff looks to land a left hand but King moved out of range nicely.

A telegraphed right hand from Duff misses the target.
Duff has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Brotherhood MMA in the buildup to the fight.
Duff throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Duff throws a hook but King avoids it easily.
Duff waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract King.
King has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
King uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Duff.
King slips under a jab from Duff.
Duff misses with a left hand
and King counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
King moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Duff is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
King uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Duff.
Danny Duff seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

King jabs Duff right on the nose. Duff blinks but takes it well.
Duff jabbing away but nothing is landing.
King fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
King is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
King tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Duff swivels and escapes.
The fighters circling - Duff throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Duff is really struggling to find his range with his punches. King's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

King throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
King uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Duff.

King is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Duff had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

King connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Duff throws a hook to the side of King's head but King sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
King changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
King lands a nice shot to the body.
King connects with a jab.
King works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Duff throws a looping overhand right but King ducks down to avoid it.
Duff keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
King ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
King tries a quick counter leg kick but Duff is wise to it.
King smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from King! Duff is out on his feet! King rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Duff is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Duff is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
