Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Heavy Rain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gyukosho Fujimoto!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fujimoto showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Rain.
Fujimoto jabs Rain right on the nose. Rain blinks but takes it well.
We've been told by Rain's head coaches at Heavy Metal that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Rain is looking to slow Fujimoto down with leg kicks.
Rain lands with a good body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rain loads up on a big right hand but Fujimoto slips the punch.
Fujimoto avoids a punch combination nicely.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Fujimoto! But no joy.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fujimoto takes one on the button.
We've been informed that Fujimoto has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Rain tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Nice jab there from Fujimoto.


It looks like Heavy Rain has been cut.
Fujimoto looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Rain scores with a nice body kick.
Rain really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Rain misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Fujimoto counters with a body kick.
Rain with a jab.
Fujimoto lands an overhand right.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fujimoto moves out of range of the body kick.
Fujimoto tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Rain counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rain misses with an uppercut
and Fujimoto counters with a stiff right hand.
Rain lands with a nice combination. Fujimoto backs away looking to recover.
Fujimoto lands a big right hook! Rain looks hurt but is still standing! Fujimoto lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Rain falls down and Fujimoto dives in with a huge hammer fist! Rain's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Fujimoto runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Gyukosho Fujimoto!
During a confident post fight interview, Gyukosho Fujimoto thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
