Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Perry Cox (ranked 23867 p4p, 562 weight class) and Jock Langdon (ranked 3208 p4p, 344 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Perry Cox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jock Langdon!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Langdon misses its intended target.
Cox misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Langdon has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Cox is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Cox ducks under a wild hook from Langdon.
Langdon blocks a head kick by Cox.
Langdon is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Langdon controls from within his opponent's guard.
Cox working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Langdon.
Cox controls Langdon momentarily but Langdon frees himself.
Langdon lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Langdon is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cox has escaped the position, nice work there.
Cox is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Langdon has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Cox is working to avoid the ground and pound but Langdon connects with a decent elbow.
Langdon cracks Cox with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Cox wants to control but Langdon postures up.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Langdon is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Cox is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Langdon is putting a hurting on Cox here, landing some big shots from side control.

Langdon wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Cox, who protects the arm well.
Cox is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Langdon off and has taken his back!

Cox knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Langdon on the ground.

Cox definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Langdon finds himself mounted whilst avoiding strikes.
Cox throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.

Langdon is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Langdon wants to control but Cox is having none of it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cox misses with some ground and pound and Langdon recovers position to half guard.
Langdon moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Langdon is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jock Langdon dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


A kick lands to the mid section there for Cox.
Langdon shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Langdon has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Cox misses with a head kick.
Langdon needs to keep his hands up - Cox had a free shot at his head there.
Langdon steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Cox. That one must have hurt.
Langdon throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Cox looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Langdon swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Cox thuds his shin into the meat of Langdon's side.
Langdon steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Cox. That one must have hurt.
Cox lands a nice looking kick to the body. Langdon takes a step back to recover.
Cox lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Langdon misses with a looping left.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cox throws a head kick that misses.
Cox displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Langdon throws out the jab.
Cox scores with a kick to the body.
Langdon fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Cox looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Langdon tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Langdon is breathing heavily.

Cox keeps Langdon at a distance using the push kick.
Nice body kick from Cox.
Cox misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Cox lands with a slapping head kick.
Good leg kick by Cox there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Langdon moves out of range as Cox throws a body kick.

Langdon throws a body punch but Cox moves out of range.
Langdon takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Langdon tests Cox's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Perry Cox is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Cox uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Langdon.
Langdon takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Langdon tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cox was well out of range. Poor timing from Langdon.
Langdon throws a head kick but Cox moves out of range.
Langdon misses the shot to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cox scores with a head kick. Langdon tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
A thudding body kick lands there by Cox!

Cox throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Langdon.


Langdon is rocked!
A head kick by Cox - that's a beauty! Langdon is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Cox can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:11 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Perry Cox!
A less than humble Perry Cox misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
