Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hector Zorba (ranked 1398 p4p, 192 weight class) and John Makres (ranked 914 p4p, 137 weight class). Makres comes into a darkened arena with his song building. SABATON - Coat of Arms kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zorba fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Zorba shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Makres connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Zorba fails with the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hector Zorba. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Zorba misses with a takedown
and Makres counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Makres scores with a nice head shot.

and Zorba counters with a takedown into side control.

Zorba throws an elbow but Makres slips to the side and avoids it well.

Makres throws Zorba to one side and escapes!
The fighters circling - Makres throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Zorba shoots for a takedown but Makres saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Makres cracks Zorba with a right hand to the side of the head.

Zorba decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Makres has one foot on Zorba's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Makres lands a glancing blow to the side of Zorba's head.
Zorba throws a wild hook but Makres just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Zorba gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Makres raises his hands in celebration and walks away!

John Makres bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
