Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dmitry Boitsov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Valentin Taneyev!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, William Gold and Sam Margolis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boitsov throws a looping overhand right but Taneyev ducks down to avoid it.
Taneyev feints a counter leg kick.
Taneyev moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Boitsov lands a nice hook to Taneyev's body. Taneyev takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
No luck for Boitsov with that takedown attempt.
Taneyev misses with a body punch

and Boitsov counters with a nice double leg into guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Boitsov's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Taneyev manages to escape and get back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Boitsov swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Taneyev.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Boitsov throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Taneyev lands a big right hand that sends Boitsov crashing to the mat! Taneyev stays standing though and waves Boitsov back to his feet!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Oh Boitsov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Taneyev misses with a jab, cross combination.
Valentin Taneyev is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Taneyev lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as Boitsov crumples to the floor! Taneyev milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!
