PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Karter Kinshaw (ranked 1080 p4p, 134 weight class) and Eric Draven (ranked 492 p4p, 61 weight class). Draven has chosen For Heavy Metal we will die! as his entrance music. Karter Kinshaw is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 20 - 0, fighting out of New York, Karter Kinshaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eric Draven!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, John Roberts and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kinshaw throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Draven dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Draven misses with a body shot.
Kinshaw connects with a right hand. Draven shakes it off.
Draven misses the body punch
and Kinshaw counters with an inside leg kick.
Kinshaw fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Draven has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Kinshaw misses with a low kick.
Draven lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Kinshaw ducks under a wild hook from Draven.
Draven rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kinshaw moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Draven keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kinshaw steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Draven. That one must have hurt.
Kinshaw feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Dravens jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kinshaw misses with a looping right.
Kinshaw misses with an uppercut.
Kinshaw scores with a leg kick.
Kinshaw misses with a straight right.
Draven steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kinshaw.
Kinshaw takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Draven swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kinshaw moves out of range of the strikes.
Kinshaw finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Draven has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Kinshaw swings away with a body shot that misses
and Draven makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Kinshaw really felt that one!

Draven fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kinshaw, pushing him back against the cage.
Kinshaw tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Draven throws a punch but it's blocked by Kinshaw.
A nice left hand lands by Draven.
Kinshaw trying to land knees to the body.
Kinshaw misses with a body punch.
Kinshaw utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
Draven scores with a hook to the body.
Kinshaw tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Draven avoids it.
Kinshaw lands an elbow just above Draven 's eye.
Kinshaw throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Draven blocks it with crossed arms.
Kinshaw throws a head punch that misses.
Kinshaw misses with a body punch.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Draven.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Draven misses with some punches.
Draven working some nice short punches in the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Draven wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Kinshaw has him pressed against the cage.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Draven creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Draven throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Kinshaws head.
Kinshaw tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Draven avoids it.
Nice body punch from Draven.
Kinshaw is breathing heavily.

Draven pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Draven moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Kinshaw looks to land a combination but Draven avoids it well.
Good leg kick by Draven there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Kinshaw throws out a leg kick but Draven moves out of range and Kinshaw only half commits.
Draven throws a low kick but Kinshaw moves out of range easily.
Kinshaw is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Draven.
Kinshaw drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.


Kinshaw is rocked!
Draven fakes the body blow, causing Kinshaw to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Kinshaw goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Eric Draven!
Eric Draven decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
