PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Branimir Simeon (ranked 1808 p4p, 98 weight class) and Kreepee Krawlee (ranked 3404 p4p, 167 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Branimir Simeon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kreepee Krawlee!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Bruno Hogan and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Krawlee shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Krawlee avoids the body shot from Simeon.
Simeon is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Krawlee.
Simeon just misses with a punch to the body.
Simeon throws a body shot but no joy.
Krawlee has his takedown stuffed
and Simeon cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Krawlee takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Simeon thows a left - swing and a miss!
Krawlee tries to counter with a clinch but Simeon shakes him off and moves away.
Nice takedown defense from Simeon. No joy for Krawlee on that attempt.
Branimir Simeon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kreepee Krawlee.
Simeon jabs Krawlee right on the nose. Krawlee blinks but takes it well.


It looks like Kreepee Krawlee has been cut.
Krawlee shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Simeon but Simeon pushes him off and we're back to square one.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Krawlee accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Simeon has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Krawlee is working away from the top position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Krawlee is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Krawlee is trying to control. Simeon wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Krawlee is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Simeon has managed to free his arm - good work.
Krawlee has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Krawlee is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Simeon doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Krawlee.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Branimir Simeon will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Simeon is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Krawlee presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Simeon lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Krawlee jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Simeon walks away with a smile on his face. Krawlee gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Simeon scores with a hook to the body. Krawlee takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Simeon dips to his left and cracks Krawlee with an uppercut!

Krawlee drops his hands momentarily and Simeon takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Krawlee is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Simeon throws out a loose jab but Krawlee uses good head movement to avoid it.

Krawlee thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Krawlee stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Simeon swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Simeon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Krawlee on the ground.
Krawlee looking to sit in guard and control but Simeon gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Krawlee escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Simeon gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Simeon avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Simeon's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Simeon has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Krawlee working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Simeon doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Krawlee is tightening it up a little... Simeon has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Simeon reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Simeon taps out! Nice BJJ there by Krawlee!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Kreepee Krawlee!
During a confident post fight interview, Kreepee Krawlee thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
Branimir Simeon spoke after the fight, saying 'Thanks for coming...I'll be back'.
