PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fletch Brandis (ranked 2754 p4p, 324 weight class) and Dan Williams (ranked 24404 p4p, 609 weight class). Brandis kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Lynyrd Skynyrd : The Ballad of Curtis Loew. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left lands for Brandis.

Williams wants to stand but Brandis is controlling the position.

Brandis is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Williams is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Brandis's half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Williams thows an elbow strike that misses. Brandis gets hold of full guard and has managed to get a loose guillotine attempt. Williams doesn't seem too bothered but Brandis quickly shifts his position and has tightened the hold! Williams is in big trouble now - he's going a funny colour - he's tapping out! Nice finish there! Williams really should have spotted the danger earlier though... either incompetence or over-confidence has resulted in a big L on his record.
