PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jabbar Omarov (ranked 734 p4p, 93 weight class) and Randy Miller (ranked 1059 p4p, 127 weight class). Miller comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Who Was In My Room Last Night by Butthole Surfers kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jabbar Omarov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Randy Miller!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller throws a body punch but Omarov moves out of range.
Omarov changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Miller comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Omarov throws a hook to the side of Miller's head but Miller sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Omarov displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Miller throws out the jab.

Omarov throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Miller was covering up waiting for the punch and Omarov finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Miller is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Miller is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Omarov is aware though and is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Miller wants to sweep but no luck.

Omarov avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Omarov is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Miller tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Miller bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Omarov's guard.

Miller postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Miller must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Omarov looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Miller trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Omarov working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Miller doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Miller manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Miller is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Miller passes Omarov's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Omarov keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Omarov avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Miller.
Miller is nestled in close to Omarov, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.


It looks like Jabbar Omarov has been cut.
The fighters are battling for position here. Omarov manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Miller won't allow Omarov to sweep him here.
Miller stands and throws Omarov's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Miller tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Miller lands some shots froms side control.
Omarov is trying to get back to half guard.
Miller connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Omarov some visible discomfort.


Jabbar Omarov's cut is getting worse.
An elbow from Miller crashes against the mat.
Omarov managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Miller.
Omarov is trying to control Miller's posture but Miller avoids it.
Miller lands a decent elbow from side control.


Jabbar Omarov's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Omarov tries to improve position but can't.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Miller passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Omarov!

Omarov is rocked!


Jeez, Jabbar Omarov's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jabbar Omarov's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Randy Miller!
A very excited looking Randy Miller made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
