Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ukko Metso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pave Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ukko Metso!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pave Hunt!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hunt tries to sprawl but Metso drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Hunt tries to roll over but Metso keeps him under control.
Metso trying to pass the guard but Hunt defending well.
Hunt has his hands clasped together around Metso's back. He's all about the action.
Metso thows a huge punch but Hunt dodges it nicely.
Hunt desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Hunt keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Metso missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Hunt is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hunt wants to control but Metso is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Hunt keeping hold of Metso's head, controlling as best he can.
Hunt blocking the ground and pound attempt from Metso.
Metso throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Metso lands with a punch from half guard.

Hunt is looking to control Metso's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hunt avoid being mounted?

Hunt felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Hunt keeping hold of Metso's head, controlling as best he can.
Metso is trying to control the action in half guard but Hunt is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Metso is looking for a kimura but Hunt is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Metso to get the leverage.
Hunt preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Metso working the head and body with strikes.
Hunt desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Metso wants to take a breather but Hunt is having none of it.
Hunt is looking to improve his position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Metso takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Metso is trying to control. Hunt wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Hunt is controlling Metso's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Hunt makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Hunt.
Hunt seems keen to control Metso's posture.
Hunt wants to stand but Metso is controlling the position.
Metso throwing strikes from guard but Hunt blocks nicely.
Hunt keeping moving, preventing Metso from controlling successfully.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hunt with a body punch. A glancing blow.
A good leg kick by Hunt.
Hunt lands with an overhand left.

Metso shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hunt's guard.

Hunt wriggles free and stands up.
Metso shoots in and drives through. Hunt sprawls well.
Hunt is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Metso with a body shot.
Metso fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Hunt lands with a thumping leg kick.
Hunt thuds his shin into the meat of Metso's side.
Hunt lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
A decent looking cross lands there for Hunt.
Metso throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hunt's waist but Hunt gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Metso off to one side.
It seemed like Hunt was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ukko Metso. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hunt scores with a jab to the body.
Hunt throws a head kick that half lands.
Metso misses with a takedown attempt
and Hunt counters with a nice leg kick.
Metso takes one to the side of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pave Hunt dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Hunt turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Metso with a poor takedown
enabling Hunt to counter with a crisp jab.
Hunt lands with a hook. Metso tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Metso shoots in for a takedown but Hunt shows good takedown defense.

Metso shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Hunt counters with a nice leg kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ukko Metso. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Metso takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Metso gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Hunt counters with a left to the body.

Hunt sends Metso crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Hunt is motioning to the referee to let Metso up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Metso gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Hunt gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Metso is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pave Hunt!
Pave Hunt is the new middleweight champion!
