The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dassler dives in for a single leg takedown but Syrowatka sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes.

The crowd cheers as Syrowatka lands an impressive looking overhand right. Dassler doesn't seem phased though.

It looks like Adi Dassler has been cut.

A looping hook to the body misses from Syrowatka. Dassler does a little dance to reset his feet.

Syrowatka pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Dassler tries to counter with a takedown but Syrowatka is quick to defend against it.

Syrowatka throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Dassler manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Syrowatka on his heels. He'll look to pass Syrowatka's guard now, I'm sure.
Syrowatka told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Dassler drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dassler jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Dassler pushes down on Syrowatka's leg and manages to get into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dassler is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Syrowatka is just riding it out for now. Dassler eventually gives up the hold.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Dassler is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Syrowatka defends it well.
