Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Floyd Banner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergio Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Garcia is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Ludacris - Beast Mode. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Floyd Banner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sergio Garcia!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Banner.
Banner throws a low kick, looking for Garcia's leg but Garcia calmly moves out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Banner looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Garcia with the counter takedown but Banner avoids it easily.
Banner avoids the head kick by Garcia.
Banner misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Banner ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Banner thows a leg kick but Garcia checks it
and Garcia counters with a nice kick to the body.
Banner cracks Garcia with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Banner moves forwards but Garcia connects with a nice, crisp jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Banner tries to clinch up but Garcia circles away and keeps his distance.
Banner tries to land a front kick but Garcia steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Banner throws a shot to the body.
Garcia throws a leg kick that misses.
Banner throws a head kick that misses.
Garcia with the counter takedown but Banner avoids it easily.

Banner ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Garcia moves away.
Garcia changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Banner tries a head kick but it misses.
Floyd Banner is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Garcia dips to his left and cracks Banner with an uppercut!

Banner dodges the punch combination from Garcia.

Garcia manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Banner on his heels. He'll look to pass Banner's guard now, I'm sure.

Banner manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the ropes.
Garcia drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Banner gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Banner breaks the clinch.
Garcia shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
It looked like Banner wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Floyd Banner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Banner misses with a body shot.
Banner feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Garcia's calf.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A nice inside leg kick there by Banner. That's going to slow Garcia down.
Garcia falls off balance throwing a combination
and Banner counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Banner throws a good cross that connects.
Garcia stuns Banner with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Banner gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Garcia has a couple of punches blocked by Banner.
Garcia lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Banner or not.
Banner tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Garcia has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Banner is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Banner is pressed up against the ropes. Garcia has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Banner down to the mat. Banner avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Floyd Banner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sergio Garcia.

Garcia looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Garcia scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Garcia has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Banner won't allow Garcia to pass to mount.
Banner has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Banner is looking to clinch.
Garcia throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Banner tried to counter with a leg kick but Garcia avoided it.
Banner takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Garcia lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
A big right from Garcia misses.
Banner just misses with a punch to the body.
Garcia fails with a takedown attempt.
Banner lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Floyd Banner will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Garcia throws an overhand right that lands on Banner's shoulder, as Banner tries to avoid the shot.

A left lands for Banner.
Banner throws the left hand but Garcia avoids the punch easily.

and Garcia counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Banner tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Garcia paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Banner lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Garcia circles away quickly and effectively.

Banner is looking to control Garcia's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Banner avoid being mounted?

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Garcia lands a nice short elbow.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Garcia is controlling the pace.

Garcia wants to pass to mount but Banner is defending the position.
Garcia is just content to waste time from the top position. Banner takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Banner preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Garcia drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Banner manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Garcia has Banner in his guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Garcia has his foot on Banner's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Banner works his way back into a safe position though.
Banner has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Banner got a little sloppy there for a moment and Garcia has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Banner has managed to get both his arms back between Garcia's legs - danger averted.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Garcia holds on and takes a little breather.
Garcia wants to improve his position but instead Banner has moved into half guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

and Banner counters with a head kick.
Banner throws a body shot but no joy.
Banner tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Banner tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Garcia is able to avoid easily.
Garcia throws a series of punches but Banner avoids them all with ease.
Garcia takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Floyd Banner will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Garcia drags the fight down to the ground.
Banner throws a big right hand that misses.
Garcia wants to sweep but no luck.
Banner wants to control from the top but Garcia keeps moving.
Garcia has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Garcia escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Banner gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Garcia is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Banner rolls with it to try and escape but Garcia cranks on the arm and Banner is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
