Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pluto Palhares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kisuke Urahara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Palhares comes to the cage accompanied by TOQUINHO. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 43 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pluto Palhares!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, Kisuke Urahara!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palhares throws a wild body kick that Urahara sees coming a mile off.
Urahara with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Urahara throws a jab when Palhares was well out of range.
Palhares moves out of range of the body kick.
Urahara motions for Palhares to come forward. Urahara throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Palhares lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Palhares seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Urahara throws a sloppy head kick and Palhares moves out of range easily.
The fighters circling - Urahara throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Urahara misses with a combination

and Palhares counters with a single leg into guard. Urahara didn't expect that.
Palhares trying to control but Urahara is working from the bottom.

Urahara is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Palhares defends well.
Palhares is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Palhares has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Urahara can't keep his opponent in guard - Palhares advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Palhares takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Urahara tries to hold on but Palhares postures up.

Urahara is squirming around, avoiding Palhares's attempts to control the action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Urahara keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Urahara tries to lock up and control but Palhares gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Urahara sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Urahara makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Urahara.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Palhares trying to control but Urahara is working from the bottom.
Palhares lands a couple of elbows.

Palhares looking to pass the guard.

Urahara is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Palhares stands and throws Urahara's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Urahara is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Palhares taking a breather here.
Palhares is looking to take a break and control but Urahara is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Palhares misses with the ground and pound.

Palhares wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Urahara, who protects the arm well.
Urahara is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Palhares moves into full mount!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Urahara is squirming around, avoiding Palhares's attempts to control the action.
Palhares in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pluto Palhares dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Good work by Palhares as he checks the leg kick.
Urahara fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Palhares checks it well.
Palhares goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Palhares misses with a wild body shot.
Urahara has a takedown stuffed.
Palhares is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Urahara can do to turn this around?
Palhares scores with a leg kick.
Palhares feints and then cracks Urahara's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Urahara down.
The fighters circling - Palhares throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Palhares fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Urahara.
Urahara throws a shot from downtown. Palhares moves away and avoids it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Palhares misses with a takedown attempt - Urahara sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Despite the aggression on Urahara's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Urahara throws a low kick but Palhares moves out of range easily.
It looked like Palhares wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Urahara gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Palhares.
Urahara takes one on the button.
Urahara misses with a straight left.

Urahara fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Palhares checks it well.
Palhares takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Urahara wants to land a leg kick but Palhares is out of range.
Palhares throws a series of punches but Urahara moves out of range.
Urahara connects with a solid leg kick.
Pluto Palhares is winning the standup battle so far.
Palhares uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Urahara.
Kisuke Urahara seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Palhares thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Urahara if he has to take too many more of those.
Urahara tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Urahara takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Urahara tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Urahara throws the left hand but Palhares avoids the punch easily.
Urahara misses with a shot to the body

and Palhares counters with a takedown into side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Urahara is looking to regain half guard here but Palhares keeps moving and retains side control.
Urahara throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
Urahara is trying to improve his position.
Palhares trying to control the position but Urahara is working away.

Urahara tries to buck Palhares off but Palhares is having none of it.
Palhares trying to control the action but Urahara is working from the bottom.
Urahara wants to control but Palhares postures up.
Palhares works to advance to full mount. Urahara defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Palhares lands a heavy elbow.

Palhares slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Urahara looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Palhares trying to control the position from guard on top but Urahara is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Urahara pushes a forearm under Palhares's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Palhares is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Kisuke Urahara!
Jumping up and down and very excited, Kisuke Urahara waved his t-shirt featuring Museum of Monsters & Madmen's logo in front of the cameras.
