Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Austin Stryker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Louden Swain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Swain has chosen Gambler as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Louden Swain!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Chris Saunders and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swain missing with a left hand there. Stryker was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Nice defenses there by Stryker.
Swain misses with a body shot.
Stryker slips a straight right by Swain.
Swain shoots for a takedown but Stryker saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Stryker waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Swain.
Sloppy strikes from Swain. Those never looked like landing.
Swain avoids the body shot from Stryker.

Stryker lands a jab to Swain's midsection.
Louden Swain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Stryker counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Swain wants to clinch up but Stryker keeps it at a distance.

Swain is looking to clinch but Stryker is avoiding it.

and Swain counters with a shoot takedown. Stryker fights it but they end up in guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Swain looking to sit in guard and control but Stryker gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Stryker is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Hilo Training Center that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Swain is trying to hold Stryker in close to prevent damage but Stryker has managed to pass into half guard.

Stryker throws a hook but Swain blocks it.
Swain tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Stryker was well out of range. Poor timing from Swain.

Swain connects with a good right hand that stumbles Stryker. Stryker circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Swain closes the distance and clinches up with Stryker, looking for a takedown. Swain pushes Stryker against the cage but Stryker circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Swain loads up on a big right hand but Stryker slips the punch.

Swain has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Stryker regains guard immediately.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Swain throws a strike but Stryker rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Stryker thows a body shot but no joy.
Swain throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Stryker's waist but Stryker gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Swain off to one side.
Swain looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Stryker is fending him off so far but Swain persists. Nope, Stryker circles away and we're back to standing.
Swain shoots in looking for a takedown. Stryker tries to sprawl out of it but Swain keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Stryker manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Austin Stryker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Louden Swain.
Swain misses with a double jab.
Stryker on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Stryker keeps the fight on the outside.
Swain takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Swain is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Stryker is keeping busy.

Stryker has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Louden Swain showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Stryker connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Swain momentarily.

Stryker tries to bum rush Swain with a series of wild strikes but Swain uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Swain shoots in and bounces Stryker off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Swain is looking to pass into half guard but Stryker pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Stryker is in guard.
Swain not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Stryker has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Swain keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Stryker's efforts to push away.

Stryker is trying to force a seperation but Swain has the dominant position.

Swain throws a punch but it's blocked by Stryker.
Swain is working for takedown but Stryker is calmly controlling the position for now.

Swain is trying to trip Stryker. He has hold of a leg but Stryker is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Swain persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Stryker will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
