Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between David Bruce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sparky Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jenkins is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: im comin. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sparky Jenkins!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bruce tries to clinch but Jenkins is having none of it.
Jenkins fails with the takedown.
Jenkins keeps the fight on the outside.

Jenkins shoots in and bounces Bruce off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Jenkins trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Jenkins is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Bruce has escaped the position, nice work there.

Jenkins wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bruce, who protects the arm well.
Jenkins tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Bruce manages to work his way to half guard, despite Jenkins's best efforts.
Bruce keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Jenkins is pressing down on Bruce's thigh, looking to free his foot. Bruce is holding on for now.

Jenkins is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Bruce has managed to free his arm - good work.
Bruce works his way to full guard. Good work.
Bruce seems keen to control Jenkins's posture.
Bruce wants to stand up but Jenkins is controlling him.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Bruce manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Bruce is breathing heavily.
Jenkins fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Bruce tries to close the distance and clinch but Jenkins swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Jenkins is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bruce is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Bruce pushes Jenkins away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Jenkins gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Bruce wants to control but Jenkins postures up.
Bruce is trying to improve his position.

Jenkins thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Bruce holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage.

Jenkins tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jenkins has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Bruce is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Jenkins off and has taken his back!

Jenkins is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bruce has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Jenkins's body.
Jenkins wants to escape the position.
Bruce is trying to stick to Jenkins's back but Jenkins is turning into Bruce. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Bruce's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Jenkins.

Jenkins drops back looking for a leg! Bruce is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bruce manages to kick Jenkins off! Jenkins jumps back into Bruce's guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Bruce lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Jenkins uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Bruce.
David Bruce is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bruce is looking to chop away at Jenkins's legs.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Sparky Jenkins will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Jenkins looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jenkins swats away the attempt to clinch by Bruce.
Bruce pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bruce stuffs the takedown attempt from Jenkins. Jenkins gets slowly back to his feet.
Bruce throws out a powerful jab.
David Bruce seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bruce lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Bruce misses with a double jab.
Bruce throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Jenkins fails to land the takedown.
Bruce moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

David Bruce showed his dominance in that final round.
