Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alan Bundy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bundy comes to the cage accompanied by God Hates a Coward. Smith has chosen Redman - Da goodness as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alan Bundy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Smith!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slapping leg kick lands for Bundy.
Sloppy strikes from Smith. Those never looked like landing.
Some bone on bone action there as Smith checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Bundy throws a head kick but Smith moves out of range.
Smith connects with a solid leg kick.
Bundy drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
A decent looking cross lands there for Smith.
Smith uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Bundy.
Bundy avoids the body shot from Smith.
Smith takes a swing at Bundy's ribcage but misses.
Bundy fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Smith pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Bundy punishes Smith's body with a nice straight punch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Smith will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Smith throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Bundy on the side of the head.
Bundy will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
No luck for Bundy with that takedown attempt.

Bundy shoots in for a double leg but Smith sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Bundy changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Smith looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Smith wants to control from the top but Bundy keeps moving.
Smith might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Bundy kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Smith postures up in Bundy's guard and throws a big left but Bundy blocks it.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Frank Smith wasn't active enough on the ground.
Bundy steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Smith.
Bundy comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Bundy throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Smith throws a right and a left that Bundy avoids nicely.
Bundy throws a nice head kick!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bundy throws a leg kick but Smith sees it coming and checks it nicely.
A looping hook to the body misses from Smith. Bundy does a little dance to reset his feet.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Smith swings away with a leg kick that misses.

and Bundy counters with a takedown into side control.

Smith is not content to let Bundy control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Bundy looks for the body kick but Smith saw that one coming.

Bundy dives in and scores a takedown into Smith's guard.

Smith manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Smith thows a huge punch but Bundy dodges it nicely.
Alan Bundy overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Bundy is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Smith's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Smith's back!

Smith is trying to get back to his feet but Bundy has full control of the position and if anything, Smith has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Smith grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.
Bundy lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Smith is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Bundy gets his way!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Bundy is landing with strikes. Smith can't take much more of this.

Bundy tries to get the hooks in deep but Smith pushed the leg off.
Smith manages to reverse the position and now he's in Bundy's guard. Nice work there by Smith.
Smith postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Smith slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Bundy tries to close the distance and clinch but Smith swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Bundy tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Smith manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Smith with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Smith swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Bundy has Smith pressed against the cage, preventing Smith from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Smith is fighting off a takedown attempt but Bundy is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Smith to the mat. Smith regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Smith leaves Bundy with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Frank Smith is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Alan Bundy has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Smith lands a jab.

Bundy dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Smith. That did some damage!

Smith smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Smith's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Smith cracks Bundy with a good jab.
Smith avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Smith tries to lock up and control but Bundy gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Bundy is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Smith is in a horrible position here. Bundy smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Bundy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Smith is rocked!
Smith is trying desperately to improve position.
Smith is still in real trouble! Can Bundy finish him?
Smith takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Smith is bucking up trying to escape but Bundy cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bundy cracks Smith with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
