Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Obi Uzoma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Whopp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chris Whopp will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Obi Uzoma!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chris Whopp!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Uzoma decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Whopp wants to get back to his feet.

Uzoma is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Whopp sees it coming and defends easily.
Uzoma tries to pass to full mount but Whopp defends it.

Uzoma postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Whopp to stand up.
Whopp lands a high kick!
Uzoma misses with a takedown attempt - Whopp sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Whopp throws a head kick that misses.
No luck for Uzoma with that takedown attempt.
Chris Whopp seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Uzoma avoids the head kick by Whopp.
Whopp throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

It looks like Obi Uzoma has been cut.
Uzoma uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Whopp.
Uzoma is trying hard to land a takedown here. Whopp sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Uzoma wants to control but Whopp postures up.

Whopp really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Uzoma. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Whopp slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Uzoma is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Whopp wants to control from the top but Uzoma keeps moving.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Obi Uzoma overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
