Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ahjo Kuomanen (ranked 148 p4p, 354 weight class) and Gerard Messing (ranked 25 p4p, 44 weight class). Kuomanen kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is HonestKey - One Shot. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kuomanen lands a jab to the nose.
Messing scores with a crisp jab that stopped Kuomanen in his tracks.
Kuomanen ducks under a wild hook from Messing.
Sloppy strikes from Kuomanen. Those never looked like landing.
Messing shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Messing was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Messing tries for a kimura but Kuomanen is defending well.
Kuomanen tries to bench press Messing off him but Messing keeps the position.
Messing tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Messing has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Kuomanen has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Messing tries to move into full mount but can't pass Kuomanen's legs.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Messing working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
Messing passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Kuomanen!
Messing loads up with a big shot that hurts Kuomanen! He's pulled Messing in close but Messing has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Kuomanen survive? More strikes from Messing and Kuomanen is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!

Gerard Messing was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
