Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Al Song (ranked 3650 p4p, 25390 weight class) and Guy Chabot (ranked 382 p4p, 467 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Al Song! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Guy Chabot! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, William Gold and Andrew Berry.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chabot checks a leg kick. The fighters circling - Song throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Song throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Chabot takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Al Song seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Song stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Song misses with a shot to the body
and Chabot counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Chabot. Song has a closed guard, preventing Chabot from standing up.
Song has his feet on Chabot's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Song ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Chabot moves away. Chabot stuffs the takedown. Song stalks Chabot and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Chabot's face. Chabot staggers backwards, shaken. This has been an exciting period of action! Song throws a hook to the side of Chabot's head but Chabot sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. And Chabot tries to counter it with a takedown but Song pushes his down on his head and steps out. Song digs a good hook to Chabot's body.
Chabot throws an overhand right that lands on Song's shoulder, as Song tries to avoid the shot. Chabot looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Song connects with a single shot there. Song throws a right hand that misses
and Chabot counters with a shoot takedown. Song fights it but they end up in guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Chabot stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Song swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Song is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Song wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Chabot has him pressed against the cage.
Chabot breaks from the clinch.
Chabot slips under a jab. Song lands with an overhand left. Song keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Chabot shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Song eats them both and turns towards Chabot to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Chabot shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Song as he jumps to the side. Chabot uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Song.
A big right from Song misses.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. A swing and a miss from Song. Chabot ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Chabot is looking for the big counter here. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Chabot takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Song swings widly with a right hand
and Chabot counters with a nice kick to the body. Song throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Chabot sees it coming and avoids it easily. Song misses with a two punch combination.
Chabot takes the fight into the clinch. Chabot leaning against his opponent.
Song tries to circle away but Chabot has him pinned against the cage. Song wants to get back to striking at distance but Chabot won't allow it.
A body shot lands from Song.
Chabot is looking to take this one to the mat. Song tries to break the clinch but Chabot is controlling the position.
Song breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Chabot bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Chabot staying out of range there. A bone on bone clash there as Chabot blocks the leg kick.
Chabot looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Al Song has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Guy Chabot. Song throws a one two combo.
Chabot moves into range and clinches up with Song. Song wants to get back to striking at distance but Chabot won't allow it.
Song breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Chabot shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Song manages to escape and get back to his feet! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Song tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Song's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Song punishes Chabot's body with a nice straight punch. Song looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Song lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Song. Song swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Chabot fails with a takedown attempt. Chabot tries to clinch but Song moves out of range. Good work by Chabot as he checks the leg kick. Song lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Song tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Chabot was well out of range. Poor timing from Song. Chabot fails with a takedown attempt. An attempted straight right counter from Song misses the target. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Song cracks Chabot with a right hand to the side of the head. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Al Song dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
Song misses with a straight right. Chabot takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Chabot stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Song. Chabot dives in for a single leg takedown but Song sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Song tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Chabot is able to avoid easily. Song scores with a sloppy right hand. Chabot should have avoided that one. Chabot takes a body punch but keeps moving. Song misses with an uppercut. Chabot saw that one coming. Chabot keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Song. Chabot takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Song throws a series of punches but Chabot avoids them all with ease.
Chabot rushes Song and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Chabot escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Song is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Chabot can do to turn this around? Chabot avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Song throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. The crowd cheers as Song lands an impressive looking overhand right. Chabot doesn't seem phased though. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Chabot showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Song.

Guy Chabot is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Song lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Song swings widly with a right hand
and Chabot counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Song tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Chabot was well out of range. Poor timing from Song. Chabot blocks a jab. Chabot tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Song swivels and escapes. Song fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Chabot is out of range. Al Song is winning the standup battle so far. Song swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Donk. Song catches Chabot right on the button with a cross. A punch combination from Song misses. Chabot lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Chabot shoots for a double leg takedown but Song sprawls well. He's pushed Chabot's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Al Song has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Guy Chabot. Chabot misses with a body kick. Song throws a hook to the side of Chabot's head but Chabot sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Chabot is defended easily by Song.

Song has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Chabot is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Song wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Chabot jumps guard and drags Song to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Song controls from within his opponent's guard. Chabot manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Song manages to get himself to full guard.

Song tries to land a leg kick but Chabot saw it coming and moves away.
Song ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Chabot moves away. Chabot takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Song throws a series of strikes that have Chabot backpedaling.
Chabot fails in his attempt to clinch. Chabot tries to clinch but Song is having none of it. Song misses with a low kick as Chabot jumps back. Song looks to land a left hand but Chabot moved out of range nicely. Song tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Chabot was well out of range. Poor timing from Song.
Chabot darts in and clinches Song up against the cage. Chabot lands a hook that snaps the head of Song backwards.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Chabot is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Chabot manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Chabot controlling the position.
Chabot looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Song has picked Chabot up and slammed him! Chabot can't keep hold of the triangle and Song manages to pass to side control!
Song has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Song fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Song lands with a nice body punch. Song swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Song throws a push kick but Chabot slaps the foot to one side.
Chabot changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Song looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Song bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Song fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Chabot looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Al Song dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Song throws out a loose jab but Chabot uses good head movement to avoid it. Chabot is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Song with a body shot. Song leaves Chabot with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Song misses with a takedown and Chabot counters with a left and a right that stings Song. Chabot takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

and Chabot holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Song pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Song connects with a right hand. Chabot shakes it off. Song throws a hook but Chabot blocks it.
Chabot drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Chabot wants to pass the guard but Song is keeping the position. Chabot slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Song gets back to half guard. Chabot misses with a head shot. Song uses the momentum to regain guard. Chabot throws a big right hand that misses. Chabot trying to control the position from guard on top but Song is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Chabot trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Chabot controls from within his opponent's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chabot throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Chabot must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Song is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Chabot looking to sit in guard and control but Song gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Chabot is trying to control but can't.
Song content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. The fighters are battling for position here. Chabot manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Chabot is adopting a defensive guard.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Chabot throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
 The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Al Song is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Chabot showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Song.
Song misses with a head kick.
Chabot drives through with a takedown into Song's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Song kicks Chabot off and gets to his feet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Chabot scores with a nice right hand.

Guy Chabot has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Chabot takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
And that's the end of the fight! Al Song showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Song, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
