Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Hugo Mesquita (ranked 891 p4p, 994 weight class) and Giacomo Bandolero (ranked 83 p4p, 97 weight class). Bandolero is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Bandolero. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hugo Mesquita!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 28 - 0, fighting out of London, Giacomo Bandolero!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bandolero is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Mesquita was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Bandolero stalks Mesquita and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Mesquita's face. Mesquita staggers backwards, shaken.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Bandolero has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

That was a close round but I would say that Hugo Mesquita will probably get the nod.
