Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jayden King (ranked 1366 p4p, 2493 weight class) and Ben Maunders (ranked 158 p4p, 242 weight class). King kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Thunder. Ben Maunders will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jayden King! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ben Maunders! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Chad Campbell and Franklyn Lucas.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! King tries to close the distance and clinch but Maunders swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Good work by Maunders as he checks the leg kick. Horrible takedown attempt by Maunders or perhaps it was just good defense by King, which made it look bad.
King moves into range and clinches up with Maunders.
King pulls guard successfully.
Maunders lands a couple of elbows. Maunders postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Maunders content to stall in guard here. King working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Maunders.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Maunders not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Maunders is a very stocky fighter. Infact he's such a weird shape that he's almost like some sort of comedy character - it's hard to believe he's real. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as King holds on and takes a little breather. King preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. King pulls Maunders in close to his closed guard and prevents Maunders from doing any damage or advancing position.
 The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Maunders keeps the fight on the outside.
King has taken the fight to the clinch.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. King fails to pull guard.
Maunders is trying to work for a single leg takedown but King pulls him back up using the underhooks. A head punch blocked on the inside by King.
King jumps guard and drags Maunders to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. King bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Maunders's guard.

Maunders is looking for a triangle but King pushes his legs off easily.
King trying to control the position from guard on top but Maunders is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Maunders trying to keep a closed guard but King is proving a slippery customer.
King won't allow Maunders to get back to his feet.

King tries to free his leg and advance position but Maunders is retaining full guard. King wants to control from the top but Maunders keeps moving. King won't allow Maunders to get back to his feet.
 The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Maunders misses with a series of wild punches.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Maunders bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps King's head backwards. Jayden King is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. King tries a head kick but it misses.
A big left from Maunders misses. King feinted with a counter takedown. Some wild striking there from King.
Maunders tries to bum rush King with a series of wild strikes but King uses good footwork to avoid the assault. King changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. King misses with an uppercut.
King instigates a clinch. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! King blocks an uppercut.
King tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
King drags the fight down to the ground.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jayden King dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
King tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Maunders paws at him with a jab and circles away. Maunders tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Maunders tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but King defends well and Maunders ends up having to push King into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Maunders looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Maunders avoids a punch combination nicely.
King lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Maunders circles away quickly and effectively. Maunders misses with a jab, cross combination.
King jabs Maunders to the body, keeping him at a distance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The fight stays on the outside here - King looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Maunders keeps the fight on the outside. Maunders misses with a wild body shot.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Maunders swings widly with a right hand
and King counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. King is standing up over Maunders. Maunders looks to escape but King dives into side control.
Maunders being controlled for a moment. King wants to control but Maunders is keeping him busy. Jayden King overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Maunders wants to get back to his feet but King drags him back down. King wants to control but Maunders is keeping him busy.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Maunders tries to improve position but can't. Maunders wants to control but King postures up. Maunders is looking for a sweep. King is looking to take a break and control but Maunders is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. King is really struggling to control Maunders but he's trying to hold on to the position.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Maunders is looking for a sweep. King in side control, just content to control the action for now. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Maunders tries to get back to half guard but can't. Maunders is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
 The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. King moves in looking to clinch but Maunders pushes him off. King sets himself, and Maunders steps forward looking for the clinch! King avoids it this time. A head kick misses from King. King is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Maunders can do to turn this around? A big left from Maunders misses.
King takes the fight into the clinch. King tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Maunders just stands there and leans against the cage. King jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Maunders walks away with a smile on his face. King gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Maunders just misses with a punch to the body.
King tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Maunders manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. And Maunders tries to counter it with a takedown but King pushes his down on his head and steps out. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
King moves into range and clinches up with Maunders. Maunders avoiding damage as King throws knees to the body.
King tries to pull guard but Maunders forces him back to his feet, against the cage. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jayden King dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
King tries to clinch but Maunders is having none of it. King throws a series of punches but Maunders avoids them all with ease. King staying out of range there. King tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Maunders manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Maunders feints the counter takedown. King doesn't manage to clinch there - Maunders circles away.
Maunders swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Maunders scores with a nice right hand.
King closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. King fails to pull the fight into his guard.

King utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Maunders looking to sit in guard and control but King gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Maunders wants to sweep here but King controlling him for the moment. King is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. King being controlled here momentarily. King pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Maunders is keeping the position for now.
Maunders looking for subs off his back but King has passed one foot through into half guard.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Maunders is looking to improve his position.
Maunders gets full guard. Maunders looking for a sweep. Not yet Maunders, not yet. King controls from within his opponent's guard. Maunders is trying to control the position but King postures up.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. King stays in close to Maunders's body and controls the position. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Maunders wants to control the position but King says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Maunders is controlling King's position as best he can from this difficult position. King with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Maunders is not content to let King control the position.

And that's the end of the fight! Jayden King showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for King, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
