Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Amari Howell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jorge Rocha! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Patrick Alders and Wagner Zegers.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Howell swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Rocha counters with a nice leg kick. Rocha pivots, looking for a leg kick but Howell is out of range and Rocha settles back down. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Rocha has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Howell looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Howell tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Rocha defends well and Howell ends up having to push Rocha into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Howell softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Rocha landing knees to the head.
Rocha tries to land a knee to the head but Howell blocks with his arms.
Rocha is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Howell is defending well for now. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rocha looking to throw knees to the head but Howell is blocking nicely.

Howell working hard to break the clinch. Howell tries to break the clinch but Rocha is controlling the position. Rocha prevents Howell from breaking the clinch. A frustrated look appears on Howell's face as he tries to break the clinch. Rocha using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.

 Howell is rocked! Rocha unloads a knee to the mid-section. Oh Howell is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Rocha lands a big knee! That's hurt Howell! Oh, he's all over the place! Rocha lands another knee that sends Howell to the floor and the referee steps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jorge Rocha! Jorge Rocha was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
