Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Oliver Hardy (ranked 748 p4p, 1182 weight class) and Aleksandr Zuev (ranked 95 p4p, 146 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Oliver Hardy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Aleksandr Zuev!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Jorge Garcia and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zuev connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Hardy takes a head kick and keeps coming.
It looks like Oliver Hardy has been cut.
Zuev throws a body punch but Hardy moves out of range.
Zuev swats away the attempt to clinch by Hardy.
Zuev fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Hardy has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Zuev walks into a stiff left hand from Hardy.
Zuev misses with a hook. Hardy ducked under it nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Zuev tries to keep at a distance but Hardy has taken the fight into the clinch.

The fighters circling - Zuev throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Hardy is looking to clinch but Zuev is avoiding it.

and Hardy counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

and Hardy counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Zuev moves into range and clinches up with Hardy.
Zuev tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Zuev breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hardy moves to clinch but Zuev breaks away
and Zuev counters with a left to the body.

Hardy ducks under a wild hook from Zuev.
Zuev throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

An attempted straight right counter from Hardy misses the target.
Hardy moves to clinch but Zuev breaks away
and Zuev counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Zuev throws a hook to the side of Hardy's head but Hardy sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Zuev has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

so Hardy counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Zuev has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Hardy in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Zuev is looking to sweep but instead, Hardy has passed into half guard.

Zuev is staying active underneath Hardy, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Hardy thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Zuev's head.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hardy shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Hardy was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Zuev explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Hardy closes the distance and clinches up with Zuev, looking for a takedown. Hardy pushes Zuev against the cage but Zuev circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Aleksandr Zuev decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
