Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Masa Saitoh (ranked 70 p4p, 83 weight class) and Sumbu Kalambay (ranked 12 p4p, 15 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 35 - 15 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Masa Saitoh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sumbu Kalambay !
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Nard Betker and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saitoh checks a leg kick nicely.

and Kalambay connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Kalambay feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Saitohs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Saitoh shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kalambay but Kalambay pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Saitoh seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Kalambay . Saitoh shrugs it off though.
Kalambay has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Saitoh is landing a low percentage of strikes.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kalambay manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Saitoh is trying to control but can't.
Saitoh wants to improve his position but Kalambay is controlling well.

Kalambay decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Kalambay walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Kalambay wants to land a leg kick but Saitoh is out of range.
Saitoh ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kalambay moves away.

Saitoh is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kalambay .

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

letting Saitoh counter with a right hand.
Saitoh scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

Saitoh chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kalambay can pounce on him.
