Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Aljosa Medeiros (ranked 1065 p4p, 992 weight class) and Krzesimir Boryszko (ranked 126 p4p, 114 weight class). Medeiros comes to the cage accompanied by Sidequest - Chime. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Aljosa Medeiros!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Krzesimir Boryszko!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Thiago Cunha and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Medeiros misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Boryszko.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Boryszko has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Medeiros swings widly with a right hand

Boryszko misses with a straight left.
Medeiros swings away with a body shot that misses
and Boryszko connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Medeiros is trying hard to land a takedown here. Boryszko sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Boryszko looks to throw the jab but Medeiros is out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Medeiros. Boryszko does a little dance to reset his feet.
Boryszko swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Boryszko dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Good exchange - Boryszko coming out on top.
Medeiros has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Medeiros scores with a jab. Boryszko acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Boryszko throws an overhand right that lands on Medeiros's shoulder, as Medeiros tries to avoid the shot.
Medeiros fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Boryszko misses with a looping right.
Medeiros appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Boryszko connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Boryszko dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Medeiros darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Boryszko throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Medeiros seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Boryszko does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Medeiros in particular looking to stall.
Medeiros prevents Boryszko from standing back up.
Medeiros is figuring out what he wants to do next.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Medeiros lands strikes from half guard.
Boryszko is refusing to be controlled, as Medeiros sits in half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Boryszko misses with some strikes from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Medeiros is thwarting Boryszko's attempts to control the position.
Boryszko is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Medeiros scores with a couple of nice shots.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Boryszko can do anything to dispel that myth.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Medeiros connects with a nice short shot to Boryszko's temple.
Medeiros has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Medeiros trying to control the action but Boryszko is working from the bottom.
Medeiros working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Boryszko has hold of Medeiros's hands but Medeiros slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Boryszko is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Medeiros scores with a couple of nice shots.

Boryszko is rocked!
Medeiros is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Boryszko is still in real trouble! Can Medeiros finish him?
Medeiros lands a big elbow - Boryszko is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Medeiros!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Aljosa Medeiros!
Our winner, Aljosa Medeiros, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
