Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Takeda Shida (ranked 31 p4p, 167 weight class) and Moses Okafor (ranked 7 p4p, 20 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 33 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Takeda Shida!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Moses Okafor!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Luis Engracia and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Okafor misses with an uppercut.
Shida throws a low kick but Okafor moves out of range easily.
Shida just misses with a punch to the body.
Shida swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Okafor misses with a right hand
and Shida counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
A punch combination from Okafor misses.
Okafor throws a lazy uppercut
and Shida counters with a low kick, right behind Okafor 's knee.
Okafor is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Shida.
Okafor tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Shida manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Okafor's jab looks to have found its range, popping Shida under the eye.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shida throws a shot from downtown. Okafor moves away and avoids it.
Shida connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Okafor ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
A jab from Okafor misses.
Moses Okafor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Shida swats away the attempt to clinch by Okafor.
Shida half committed to a counter leg kick.
Okafor connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Shida misses with a wild body shot.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Okafor! But no joy.
Okafor swings widly with a right hand
and Shida counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Shida swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Okafor ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Shida moves away.
It looked like Shida wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Okafor misses with a body shot.
Shida uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Okafor.
Nice straight punches there by Shida. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Shida.
Shida walks into a jab.
Shida throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Shida misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Okafor.
Shida looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Okafor takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Okafor looks to throw the jab but Shida is out of range.
Shida on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Okafor swings widly with a right hand
and Shida counters with a nice body shot.
Okafor throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Okafor's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Shida connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Okafor scrambles back to his feet.
It looks like Moses Okafor has been cut.
Okafor lunges at Shida with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Shida's hand.
Okafor drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Okafor just misses with a punch to the body.
Shida blocks a jab.
As Okafor backs away, Shida returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Shida walks into a left hand.
Shida comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Okafor looks winded!
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Okafor throws a hook but Shida avoids it easily.
Shida catches Okafor with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Shida throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Okafor misses with a jab, cross combination.
Okafor throws an off balance right hand
and Shida counters with a straight right hand.
Okafor looks to land a combination but Shida avoids it well.
Okafor gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Okafor tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Shida is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Okafor buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Okafor!! Okafor is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Shida throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Takeda Shida!
After winning the bout, Takeda Shida thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
