Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Minoari Amida (ranked 3958 p4p, 3915 weight class) and Larry Kings (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Larry Kings is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Larry Kings!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yuuki Gou and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown attempt by Kings or perhaps it was just good defense by Amida, which made it look bad.

Amida fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kings sprawls well initially but Amida persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Kings is refusing to be controlled, as Amida sits in half guard.
Kings keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Amida is figuring out what he wants to do next.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kings feints and as Amida raises his hands in defense, Kings changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Amida throws a strike but Kings rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Kings wants to stand but Amida is controlling his posture from full guard.

Amida trying to keep a closed guard but Kings is proving a slippery customer.
Amida is pulling down on Kings's head. It's preventing any offense from Kings, at least for the moment.
Amida is trying to hold Kings in close to prevent damage but Kings has managed to pass into half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Amida tries to get to full guard but Kings has control of the leg.
Amida moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

and Kings counters with a series of strikes. Amida will be more careful next time no doubt.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
