Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Akhmed Dudayev (ranked 502 p4p, 2071 weight class) and Matsuda Takeshi (ranked 60 p4p, 227 weight class). Akhmed Dudayev could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Matsuda Takeshi's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matsuda Takeshi!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Anthony Taglia and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takeshi ducks right into an uppercut from Dudayev.

Dudayev is trying to control the position but Takeshi postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That was a close round but I would say that Akhmed Dudayev will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Takeshi drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Dudayev manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Takeshi has Dudayev in his guard.

Dudayev got a little sloppy there for a moment and Takeshi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dudayev has managed to get both his arms back between Takeshi's legs - danger averted.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Dudayev controls Takeshi momentarily but Takeshi frees himself.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Dudayev holds on and takes a little breather.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.

Takeshi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dudayev swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dudayev is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

And that's the end of the fight!
Akhmed Dudayev showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dudayev, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Akhmed Dudayev really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that AVALON logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
