Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marques Roy (ranked 723 p4p, 352 weight class) and Pete Price (ranked 100 p4p, 50 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Marques Roy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Pete Price!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roy feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Prices jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Roy shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Price manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Price is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Roy is aware though and is defending well.
Price has control of Roy's left arm, preventing Roy from doing any damage.
Price is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Roy scoring with some ground and pound.
Roy has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Roy wants to control from the top but Price keeps moving.
Price is trying to control the position but Roy postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Roy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Price swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Our spies down at at Triumph Over Fear inform us that Price has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Price keeping moving, preventing Roy from controlling successfully.
Price controls Roy momentarily but Roy frees himself.

Price is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Roy is aware though and is defending well.
Price is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Roy has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Price is working away from the top position though.

Price thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Roy's head.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Price connects with a nice short shot to Roy's temple.
Roy tries to get to full guard but Price has control of the leg.

Price is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Roy doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Price.

Roy trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Price manages to pass to mount!
Price throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Price looking to control but Roy is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Price cracks Roy with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Price takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Roy tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Price misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Price has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Roy's face.

Price has control of Roy's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Roy regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Roy is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Roy keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Price throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Roy because Price loaded up on that one.

Price wants to control the pace but Roy is squirming around nicely.
Price throws some wild stikes that Roy manages to avoid easily.
Price trying to control but Roy is having none of it.
Price with shots to the head and body - Roy looks very uncomfortable down there.

It looks like Marques Roy has been cut.
Roy takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Price's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pete Price!
A very excited looking Pete Price rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
